A multi layered painting, rested and painted over many years. The first layers were laid onto the canvas in 2017, the next in 2019 and completed in 2025. Each layer represents a defining period of my life - the 2017 layer was a scorched earth pattern created with liquid acrylics and lots of water. The 2019 layers reflected the very specific spiritual path I was on at the time, a path that became very dark but lead to much personal evolution. The finished painting and the title both reflect what I have come to understand about the way of all things, as taught in the ancient spiritual text The Tao Te Ching "mystery and matter arise from the same source, this source is called darkness, darkness within darkness, the gateway to all understanding" - Lao Tzu
shipping will be calculated after the painting has been packaged and a separate invoice will be sent and must be paid before the painting is shipped. depending on the size of the painting and your location, shipping costs will range between €50 - €250.
