this painting started out as a portrait of the person I was addicted to at the time. I didn’t mean for it to be, but they were all I could think or feel or breathe about at the time. this was the relationship that would finally force me to face the fact that I was a love addict. god I hate writing that, even still. over time, the painting became a prayer – i want to love only freely, without agenda.
